Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician

We are seeking a Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour coverage at a hospital in Tacoma, WA. This long-term assignment offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a variety of orthopedic cases and patient populations.

 

Assignment Details:

 

• Shift Type: 24-hour shifts
• Duration: 6 – 9 months
• EMR System: Epic
• Patient Volume: Varies, 0 – 7 admissions/patients per day
• Case Mix: Wide range of orthopedic procedures and trauma cases 

Responsibilities:

 

• Provide 24-hour orthopedic surgery coverage, including emergent and routine cases
• Perform surgical interventions for various orthopedic conditions and trauma
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with orthopedic injuries or conditions
• Coordinate care with ER physicians, hospitalists, and other specialists
• Manage pre- and post-operative patient care
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR
• Participate in admissions, discharges, and consultations as needed 

Requirements:

 

• Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
• Active Washington medical license or IMLC with LOQ – required
• BLS Certification
• DEA license
• Prior experience managing a variety of orthopedic trauma and general cases preferred
