Locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

We are seeking an experienced Locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide coverage in Salem, Virginia from October 2025 through March 2026. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative anesthesia care team in a Level II trauma center (in process), supporting a wide range of surgical cases.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CRNA looking for a consistent weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities.

 

Assignment Details:

 

• Duration: October 2025 – March 2026
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Shift Type: 8-hour shifts
• Volume: 25-35 cases per day in the OR (average)
• Practice Setting: Hospital / Level II Trauma Center (in process) 

Case Types:

 

• General Surgery
• Endoscopy
• Gynecology (GYN)
• Orthopedics (including total joints)
• Spine
• Robotics (DaVinci)
• Urology
• ENT
• Breast
• Plastic Surgery
• Pain Management
• Pediatric Dental
• Labor & Delivery (anesthesia coverage)

No cardiac, epidural, or peripheral nerve block experience required.
Spinal experience preferred but not required.

 

Qualifications:

 

• National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) – required
• Active Virginia state license or ability to obtain
• Experience with a variety of standard surgical cases preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
