Locum Cardiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Cardiology PA or NP for a locum tenens opportunity in Asheville, North Carolina. This role offers 12-hour day shifts with a focus on inpatient cardiology care and procedural support.

 

Position Details:

 

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7 days per week (mostly daytime coverage)
• Setting: Inpatient hospital-based cardiology service line
• EMR: Cerner 

Responsibilities:

 

• Round daily on all levels of care for patients admitted to or seen in consultation by the general cardiology service line
• Write daily progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, new consult notes, and discharge summaries
• Order medications, diagnostic testing, and procedures as indicated
• Perform procedures in the ICU when necessary, including:
• Arterial line placement
• Central line placement
• Cardioversion
• Perform new consults in collaboration with the attending cardiologist 

Requirements:

 

• Active North Carolina PA or NP license
• Active North Carolina DEA
• Minimum of 2 years of cardiology experience in an inpatient setting
• Proficient with Cerner EMR preferred
