Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Locums Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Nephrology practice in Upland, CA. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative team focused on delivering exceptional care to patients with kidney disease and related conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience in nephrology or internal medicine and a strong commitment to patient education, chronic disease management, and improving quality of life for patients with renal disorders.
Compensation: $90.00-$1000.00 Per Hour
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, and other renal-related conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including histories and physical examinations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Manage and adjust dialysis treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families about kidney disease management, dialysis, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on lab and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians, dialysis staff, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care conferences.
Qualifications:
- Current California Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP).
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Nephrology or internal medicine experience preferred; dialysis experience highly desirable.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team.
