Locums Neonatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Locums Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide care in a Level III NICU in Syracuse, NY. This role involves working closely with a collaborative team of neonatologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for critically ill newborns. The ideal candidate will have prior NICU experience and the ability to manage patients independently.

Compensation:  $130 Per Hour

 

Position Details:

 

• Shift Options: 12-hour or 24-hour shifts
• Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
• Shift Types: Days or nights
• Weekend Requirements: Yes
• Average Patient Census: 8–9 patients per day
• Setting: Level III NICU

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Provide advanced care for critically ill newborns, including assessment, diagnosis, and management
• Perform procedures as appropriate to the provider’s scope of practice and facility protocols
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and other team members to ensure optimal outcomes
• Participate in daily rounds and develop individualized care plans
• Accurately document all patient encounters in the EMR
• Respond to emergencies and provide immediate neonatal resuscitation when necessary

 

Requirements:

 

• Board Certification: Required (NNP or PA-C)
• License: Active New York state license
• Experience: Previous experience in a Level III NICU
• Must be comfortable managing patients independently
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
