The Pharmacist Clinician is an advanced practice pharmacist responsible for assuring optimal drug use outcomes in high risk, high cost or complex patient populations. She/He applies specialized knowledge of pharmacotherapy to direct patient care, teaching, consultation and research. Participates as a member of specialized care teams such as infectious disease, oncology, nephrology, primary care and intensive care. Provides clinical leadership in area of expertise including policy development and program oversight responsibilities.
Doctor of Pharmacy and an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience. Licensed pharmacist in the State of Vermont.
3 years of advanced practice experience in their area of expertise or equivalent experience.
Conditional offers of employment in the Specialty Pharmacy department are contingent upon favorable completion of a thorough background check and post-offer, pre-employment drug screening. Candidates must submit to a drug screen from a vendor approved by the UVM Medical Center. Specialty Pharmacy candidates who refuse to obtain a drug screen within the time frame requested may have their offer of employment rescinded. If a Specialty Pharmacy candidate’s drug screen reveals a positive test result, dependent on the circumstances, his/her offer of employment may be rescinded.
