Steward Health Care is seeking a full time APRN to work in the adult patient behavioral health unit. As a key member of the treatment team, the primary role of the RN is to deliver extraordinary, patient focused care in a manner that is both compassionate and collaborative. Your professional commitment ensures that each patient receives the highest quality of treatment.
The unit has 26 beds but staffs up to 23. The average daily census is 18. The position includes call 1 night per week (from 5pm – 7am) and 1 weekend per month of call (5pm Friday – 7am Monday). Weekend rounding on patients is on Saturday and Sunday. The hospitalist team takes care of the H&P’s and medical care of the patients. There is a wonderful administrative team that supports the unit.
· Each team member must be fully licensed. Preference will be given to those nursing professionals who have gained the credential of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing or Adult Psychiatric Registered Nurse.
· Candidate must be board certified
· Expect to see 10 – 12 patients per day
· Must have 2 – 3 years of experience

In 1963 Pioneer Valley Hospital opened its doors with three operating rooms and forty beds. Today this west side medical facility is host to over 36,000 emergency room visits, making it one of the busiest emergency departments in the state.
In 2004 Pioneer Valley Hospital completed an 18-month long, $14 million construction project which included more than 88,000 square feet of expansion and renovations and a significant investment in state-of-the-art medical technology.
The project was conducted in two phases with the first phase producing a new 16,800 square foot emergency room with separate entrances for ambulances and walk-in patients. The second phase included the remodel of approximately 33,400 square feet in the areas of radiology, endoscopy, the baby nursery, hospital laboratory, central sterilization, and outpatient services.
