Northwest Healthcare | Tucson, AZ & Surrounding Communities

Northwest Healthcare is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our growing emergency medicine programs across multiple facilities in the Tucson area, including a 300-bed tertiary hospital, neighborhood hospital, and stand-alone emergency departments. These locations offer a range of practice environments, patient volumes, and coverage models to match physician preferences. 


Candidates must be willing to rotate between all locations listed below.


Facilities Include:

  • Northwest Medical Center (Tucson) – 300-bed acute care hospital

  • Northwest Medical Center at Sahuarita – 18-bed neighborhood hospital

  • Northwest Emergency Center at Marana – Free-standing ED

  • Northwest Emergency Center at Vail – Free-standing ED

Emergency Department Highlights (by location):

Northwest Medical Center – Tucson

  • 51,100 annual ED visits

  • 1.8–2 patients per hour

  • 45 hours of physician coverage daily

  • 24 hours of APC coverage daily

  • ABEM-certified physicians only

Northwest Medical Center at Sahuarita

  • 22,630 annual ED visits

  • 1.8 patients per hour

  • 27 hours of physician coverage daily

  • 10 hours of PA coverage daily 

Northwest Emergency Center at Marana

  • 10,220 annual ED visits

  • 12 private ED beds

  • 1.2 patients per hour

  • 24 hours of physician coverage 

Northwest Emergency Center at Vail

  • 13,140 annual ED visits

  • 1.5 patients per hour

  • 24 hours of provider coverage

  • Full-service labs, digital X-ray, CT, and emergency diagnostic services

  • Support from a comprehensive hospital network including cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, surgery, and more

  • Designated Centers of Excellence at Northwest Medical Center for Chest Pain, Stroke, Joint Replacement, Spine Surgery, Bariatrics, and Breast Imaging
