**Academic Geriatric Division Director Opening in Greenville, NC**

Seeking a board-certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with additional qualification in Geriatrics to serve as System Medical Director of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care. Palliative Care experience required, certification preferred.
* The successful candidate will support, develop, and provide leadership for the Family Medicine Division to include geriatric care initiatives within the family medicine department, School of Medicine, and 9-hospital integrated healthcare system.
* Applicants should have a commitment to education and mentorship of medical and graduate students, residents, and fellows.
* This position is a fixed term or tenure track academic leadership position at the rank/title of Clinical Assistant Professor or higher (rank is commensurate with experience).
* The mission of the Geriatrics Division is to provide clinical care for the geriatric patient population as well as to train medical students, residents, and fellows.
* Ambulatory Care Center that provides primary care for older adults, as well as multidisciplinary consultation clinics for memory concerns, falls, and medication management.
* Provides on-site care in the memory, assisted living, and skilled units at a local continuing care retirement community, as well as inpatient care at Medical Center.
* Job responsibilities will include 50% clinical care / 50% administrative
* Lead and supervise faculty in the Geriatrics and Palliative Care Division
* Work in a positive and collaborative fashion with leadership to foster growth and development of quality, experience, finance, informatics and communication initiatives relative to geriatric and palliative care medicine
* Lead inter-professional teams and demonstrate exemplary professionalism, serving as a role model for providing exceptional care to patients, visitors, team members, and learners
* Build a geriatric consultative service specifically targeting the trauma and acute care surgery population
* Create a dynamic outpatient service with focused specialize clinics such as memory, fall and polypharmacy
* Leverage telemedicine to expand access throughout the region
* Work in an environment with full integration between hospital consult service, inpatient palliative hospice, hospice house and home hospice
