University of Pittsburgh Physicians is seeking a Neonatologist to serve as an Associate Clinical Director, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Magee-Womens, UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. This position will report to the Division Chief, Division of Neonatology, Department of Pediatrics and Clinical Director, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, UPMC Hamot Hospital.

Qualifications Include:
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Appointment to the Hospital’s Active Medical Staff
- Appointment to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Faculty
- Commitment to administration and leadership of clinical programs
- Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Maintenance of a valid U.S. passport and required immigration documentation to travel to areas outside of the continental U.S.
Function:
The overall function of the Associate Clinical Director for the Division of Neonatology is to lead and coordinate all activities related to clinical affairs in the Department of Pediatrics in compliance with standards and regulations set forth by the ACGME, JCAHO, and other regulatory agencies (e.g., Department of Health, OSHA, and CMS [formerly HCFA]). The Associate Medical Director must devote sufficient time to the development and maintenance of the program to establish leadership and to fulfill the administrative responsibilities inherent in achieving the goals of the individual faculty members and of the program.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist Director with providing administrative oversight of the entire breadth of clinical activities in the NICU
- Assist Director with developing and reviewing all NICU policies, procedures, and equipment/facility needs
- Assist Director with providing administrative oversight of the medical residents, neonatal nurse practitioner, neonatal physician assistant, student nurse and allied health professional training programs affiliated with the NICU
- Represents the NICU on hospital committees as requested
- Serves as a liaison between the NICU, the pediatric medical staff and outside agencies (including JCAHO and State Department of Health)
