Job Description

Merit Health Natchez is seeking a Hospitalist Physician to join our inpatient medicine team in either a full-time or PRN capacity. This opportunity includes a clear leadership track with potential progression toward Medical Directorship, offering both clinical practice and professional growth within a supportive hospital environment.

Position Highlights

Compensation: $160/hour (approximately $26,880+ per block)
Schedule: 7-on / 7-off
Shift Type: 100% daytime shifts
Volume: ~168 hours/month
Leadership track opportunity toward Medical Director role
Flexible FT or PRN structure

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient hospitalist care during daytime shifts
Manage admissions, rounding, and inpatient medical management
Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered treatment plans
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Participate in quality initiatives and care improvement efforts
Engage in leadership development opportunities as part of the career track

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Current Mississippi medical license or eligibility for licensure
Strong clinical and communication skills
Interest in leadership development preferred
Ability to work effectively in a structured inpatient environment
