\n\nSummary:
\n\nResponsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital.
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area and the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.
\n\nThe Shoreline campus is a premiere facility housing many of the region’s most vital and renowned programs such as a Primary Stroke Center, nationally accredited Cancer Center and a nationally recognized Chest Pain Center. The Pavilion at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline houses the CHRISTUS Spohn Heart Network, which was recently recognized as one of the top 100 cardiovascular hospitals in the United States. The Heart Institute offers the most advanced diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitative cardiac services in one convenient location.
\n\nResponsibilities:
\n\n•\tMeets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
•\tInclude, but are not limited to:
•\tEmergency (Code Blue and White) response;
•\tAirway management including nasotracheal & endotracheal suctioning;
•\tDelivery of aerosolized drugs;
•\tVentilator management (i.e. setup and operation);
•\tOral hygiene;
•\tAirway retaining device placement and maintenance;
•\tAirway support device management including BiPAP and CPAP devices;
•\tOxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring;
•\tChest film analysis;
•\tBloodgas collection and analysis;
•\tEKG analysis;
•\tAccurate and complete documentation;
•\tCleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies as necessary;
•\tParticipate in CAP and JC surveys.
•\tRRTs may function as Shift Leader or serve in the capacity of Team Leader
•\tAdvanced practice skills may include:
•\tTherapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2;
•\tPulmonary Function Testing;
•\tBronchoscopy assist;
•\tHemodynamic Monitoring;
•\tWaveform analysis;
•\tNocturnal SpO2 evaluation (Desaturation Studies);
•\tPolysomnography;
•\tTransport duties.
