Job Description
We are seeking Medical Oncologists to join our team on a locum tenens basis in Illinois. This is a strong opportunity for a physician interested in a combination of daytime coverage and overnight/weekend call at a Level I Trauma Center.
Overview:
- Approximately 20 shifts/month
- 8:00 AM–4:00 PM day shifts, 4:00 PM–8:00 AM overnight call
- Weekend Call: 8:00 AM–8:00 AM
- Support: On-site APP for consults, follow-ups, and patient management; PRN Medical Oncologist available one week per month
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including consultations, admissions, and follow-up care
- Conduct hospital rounding as needed
- Collaborate with APPs on consults, follow-ups, orders, and patient management
- Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary cancer team
- Provide continuity of care alongside hospital staff and consulting services
- Provide coverage when the PRN Medical Oncologist is not on-site
Requirements:
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
- Active Illinois medical license (CSR required)
- DEA and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
