Job Title: Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Location: New Jersey
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call: 1:3 rotation + 1 weekend per month
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Regional Behavioral Health team. This position will work alongside a collaborative team of 5 full-time psychiatrists and 7 advanced practice nurses (APNs) with the support of a Regional Medical Director.
The role includes providing clinical leadership and direct patient care for children and adolescents in a newly developed Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Outpatient Services. The ideal candidate will also serve as a mentor to APNs and contribute to ongoing program development, safety initiatives, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations using interviews, observations, and medical history reviews
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions in children and adolescents
- Create and manage individualized treatment plans, including psychotherapy and medications
- Monitor patient progress with regular follow-up appointments and adjust plans as needed
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare providers
- Provide clinical mentorship to Advanced Practice Nurses
- Maintain thorough documentation of diagnoses, treatment, and outcomes
- Stay informed of current developments in psychiatry and mental health
- Contribute to quality and safety improvement initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of 4-year psychiatry residency
- Board Certification in Psychiatry
- Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent experience
- Current DEA license
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
