Position Overview:
A leading neurosurgical practice is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated mid-level provider (PA-C or NP) to work in a one-on-one, collaborative role with a neurosurgeon specializing in functional neurosurgery and neuromodulation procedures. This dynamic position offers a balanced mix of outpatient, inpatient, and operative responsibilities in a highly specialized clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Outpatient Care:
Conduct patient evaluations, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative follow-ups
Educate patients and families on treatment options, surgical procedures, and recovery expectations
Support office-based procedures including wound care and suture removal
Assist with programming and ongoing management of neuromodulation devices
Inpatient Care:
Manage neurosurgical patients in collaboration with the neurosurgeon and inpatient teams
Perform daily rounds, coordinate care, and document clinical progress
Participate in neurosurgical consultations
Operative Support:
Serve as first assist in the operating room
Support advanced surgical procedures including stereotactic techniques, intraoperative monitoring, and device implantation
Coordination & Communication:
Act as a liaison between patients, the surgeon, referring providers, and healthcare teams
Promote continuity of care across clinical settings
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Board certification through NCCPA or an accredited NP board
Prior experience in neurosurgery, surgical specialties, or neurology strongly preferred
Demonstrated interest or experience in functional neurosurgery and neuromodulation
Strong communication, procedural, and clinical decision-making skills
Ability to function independently while remaining team-oriented
