A respected community hospital in Hollister, California, located just a short drive from Monterey Bay, is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatrician to serve as Medical Director for its Pediatric Hospitalist program. This is a permanent, full-time position offering leadership responsibility, a flexible 24-hour shift model, and the chance to provide meaningful care in a semi-rural California setting.

**Schedule:**

* Full-time: 12 24-hour shifts per month
* On-call responsibilities handled from home
* Shifts likely include some weekends due to 24-hour rotation
* Setting: Community hospital with ~500 annual deliveries

**Core Responsibilities**

* Lead the pediatric hospitalist team as Medical Director
* Provide well newborn care and high-risk delivery coverage
* Perform pediatric consultations in the emergency department
* Manage low-acuity pediatric inpatient admissions
* Coordinate neonatal transports with affiliated Level III NICU (located in San Jose)
* Collaborate with hospital leadership and affiliated specialists
* Support clinical quality initiatives and staff education

**Qualifications**

* Board Certified in Pediatrics – Required (no exceptions)
* California medical license or willingness to obtain – Required
* Current inpatient hospital experience – Required (must be noted in submission)
* DEA license – Required prior to start (no exemptions)
* Clean malpractice and license history – Highly Preferred
* Relocation or Local Residency Required – Commuters welcome, but candidates must be willing to relocate or reside in the area

**Compensation & Benefits**

* Base Salary Range: $190,000 – $230,000
* Medical Director Stipend: Additional to base salary
