Job Description
We are seeking an Interventional Cardiologist to locum tenens coverage in Illinois. This part-time position offers weekend call coverage with the opportunity to provide both interventional and general cardiology services in a community hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing emergent cardiac cases, performing necessary interventions, and providing weekend patient rounding.
Position Overview
- Two weekends a month
- Friday at 5 PM through Monday at 8 AM
- Provide weekend call coverage for both interventional and general cardiology services
- Round on patients Saturday and Sunday (approximately 4–5 hours per day)
- Be available for emergent consultations and interventions
- Average hospital call-backs: 0–4 per day
- Deliver timely, high-quality documentation of patient encounters and interventions
- EMR: Cerner
Requirements
- Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
- Minimum 1 year post-training
- Active Illinois medical license
- ACLS, DEA, and Illinois CSR required
