Locums Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Physician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Locums Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Physician to join a dedicated surgical team in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves a mix of hospital call coverage and clinic responsibilities, providing high-quality care to patients with cardiothoracic conditions. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE), trained in cardiothoracic surgery, and proficient with a wide range of surgical procedures.

 

Key Details:

 

• Call Coverage: 15 days per month (24-hour call)
• Daily Patient Volume: 4
• Daily Clinical Requirements: 4 hours per day of hospital, clinic, or OR time plus 24-hour call responsibilities, with call backs as needed
• Practice EMR: EPIC

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Provide cardiac and thoracic surgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Manage hospital call coverage, including emergent and urgent cases.
• Conduct patient evaluations, pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Perform a variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and excellence.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and surgical procedures accurately in EPIC.

 

Requirements:

 

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Completion of an accredited cardiothoracic surgery fellowship
• Active Alaska medical license or eligibility to obtain
