Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Emergency & Urgent Care opening in MT
Located in Glendive
Full Time Position
A Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is sought to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department (ED) and/or Urgent Care (UC) setting. Working under the supervision and guidance of the on-duty physician, the PA/NP will assess, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan, while maintaining autonomy in clinical decision-making and adhering to established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking and physical exams
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, x-rays, and EKGs
Diagnose conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
Perform procedures as approved by credentialing and licensure
Prescribe medications in accordance with state and organizational guidelines
Collaborate with supervising physician as needed for complex cases or consultations
Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner
Maintain required certifications for emergency and urgent care settings
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Current state licensure and certification
Demonstrated ability to manage patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics
Meets all continuing education and credentialing requirements
Skills & Abilities:
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Ability to work independently and within a team in high-pressure environments
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move for prolonged periods
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Exposure to chemicals, body fluids, and bloodborne pathogens
