**Family Medicine Residency Program – Faculty Development Fellowship**
**Board certified or board eligible (ABFM or AOBFP)**
Overview:
A Family Medicine Residency Program is seeking a highly motivated Fellow for its Faculty Development Fellowship. This newly developed fellowship offers an excellent opportunity for physicians interested in academic medicine, teaching, and leadership within graduate medical education (GME).
Ideal Candidate:
• A recent Family Medicine graduate or experienced physician with a strong desire to work in medical education or academic leadership.
• Interested in learning the foundational principles of GME with the goal of becoming an effective and efficient faculty member.
• Passionate about teaching, mentoring residents, and contributing to program development and innovation.
Program Highlights:
• Designed to prepare fellows for faculty roles in Family Medicine education or leadership positions in primary care organizations.
• Combines hands-on teaching experience, curriculum development, and structured faculty development coursework.
• Includes participation in a comprehensive faculty development curriculum with assigned activities, online learning, and feedback from faculty instructors.
Position Details:
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
o Average of 2 clinic days, 1 precepting day, and dedicated administrative time for GME education each week.
• Call: No overnight call required (optional OB or inpatient adult medicine coverage available).
• Clinical Responsibilities:
o Provide full-spectrum continuity patient care in an outpatient clinic setting.
o Teach and supervise residents providing outpatient care, low-risk prenatal and postpartum care, and optionally inpatient and low-risk obstetrics.
o Engage in curriculum creation, program projects, didactic sessions, and ongoing faculty development activities.
Compensation and Benefits:

Requirements:
• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).
• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.
• Board certified or board eligible (ABFM or AOBFP).
• Eligible for or holding a valid state medical license (or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact).
• Good standing with current employer or residency/fellowship program.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required).
• Open to family medicine–trained candidates with additional training or fellowships.
• Faculty experience not required—training will be provided.
• Open to new graduates interested in academic medicine.
• Not accepting visa candidates at this time.
