Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Physician Assistant to provide both operative and hospital floor coverage for adult patients in Florida. This hands-on role requires vein harvesting and independent management of surgical and post-operative care.
Schedule:
- Day shifts: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (in-house, floor coverage)
- Night shifts: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (in-house, floor coverage)
- Weekend coverage as scheduled
- Real-time charting required
- On-call response: 30 minutes by phone; 30 minutes to return to site
Responsibilities:
- Support surgical cases in the OR and manage post-operative care on the hospital floor
- Harvest veins and perform all assigned cardiothoracic procedures
- Manage patient care independently; no APP supervision required
- Average inpatient census: 8–10 patients
- Average OR cases: 2–3 per day
- EMR: Cerner
Qualifications:
- PA-C with DEA and ACLS certification
- Must be able to harvest veins and handle all assigned cardiothoracic cases
- State license required (candidates who can obtain quickly will be considered)
- 1–2 weeks for credentialing/privileging
