**Locums | CV/CT Surgery NP/PA | Inpatient + OR | Spokane, WA**
**Why This Role**
- Join a high-acuity cardiothoracic surgical team performing advanced robotic, cardiac, and thoracic procedures.
- Collaborate with a strong group of four surgeons and four PAs providing comprehensive pre-, intra-, and postoperative care.
- Engage in meaningful clinical work across ICU, OR, and step-down units with a balanced call rotation.
**Assignment Details**
- Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
- Setting: Inpatient
- Start: ASAP
- End: Ongoing
- Schedule: 7a–5p; call 5p–7a; weekend call Friday 5p–Monday 7a
- Call Rotation: 1:3 weekdays, 1:4 weekends
- Response Time: 30 minutes
- Beds in Unit: ~16 ICU
- Admissions: Yes
- Practice Model: 4 Surgeons + 4 PAs
- EMR: Epic
- Credentialing: 60–90 days (expedited privileges available for clean history)
**Clinical Details**
- Participate in daily rounding, progress notes, medication management, and discharge summaries
- Perform consults, histories, and physicals
- Manage chest tubes and collaborate in multidisciplinary rounds
- First-assist in all procedures, including robotic and open cardiac surgeries
- Perform endoscopic vein and radial harvesting using the Maquet Hemopro 2 Vasoview system
- Assist with conduit preparation, post-op orders, and sternotomy closure (per surgeon preference)
- Provide call coverage including late cases, CCU calls, and emergency returns
**Procedures + Case Types**
- Robotic Lobectomy & Thymectomy (DaVinci Xi)
- CABG & Valve Repair/Replacement (Aortic, Mitral, TAVR)
- Thoracotomy & VATS
- LVAD Implantation
- Aortic Dissection Repair
- ECMO
**Requirements**
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Cardiothoracic Surgery)
- Active WA medical license or IMLC
- BLS required
- Experience in CV/CT surgery, ICU management, and first-assist procedures
- Proficiency in conduit harvesting (preferred)
**Compensation**
- Rates: Facility is accepting bids
- Malpractice: Provided
- Travel: Reimbursed
