Locums Neonatology Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Locums Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to provide compassionate, high-quality care in both Level II and Level III NICU settings in Denver, Colorado. This role offers flexibility between 24-hour in-house NICU shifts and 12-hour day shifts (7 AM – 7 PM) focused on newborn and delivery coverage. The ideal candidate is a skilled and confident NNP with experience attending high-risk deliveries, managing newborns, and supporting NICU teams in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

 

Assignment Details:

 

• Shift Options:
• 24-hour in-house NICU shifts, or
• 12-hour shifts (7 AM – 7 PM) covering NBN/Delivery role
• Duration: Ongoing locums coverage
• Setting: Level II and Level III NICU

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Provide advanced neonatal care for infants in Level II and III NICU settings.
• Attend and manage all high-risk deliveries.
• Conduct rounds on well-newborns and manage acute or ongoing neonatal conditions.
• Assist with procedures and patient management in the Level III NICU as needed.
• Offer downtime coverage for the 24-hour NNP in the Level III NICU for 2–4 hours in the afternoon.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and respiratory therapists to ensure seamless patient care.

 

Requirements:

 

• Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – Board Eligible not accepted
• Active Colorado license or Compact license eligibility
• Minimum 6 months of recent clinical experience in a Level II or III NICU
• NRP certification required
