Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Critical Care Physician to join a well-established and collegial Critical Care Division as a Full-Time Nocturnal Intensivist. This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated physician who thrives in a collaborative, academic community hospital environment and enjoys both direct patient care and teaching responsibilities.
The hospital features a 29-bed closed ICU within a 483-bed academic community medical center, serving patients from Baltimore and beyond. Physicians also have the option to provide inpatient pulmonology coverage if desired.

Position Highlights
• Full-time nocturnist schedule: Approximately 13–14 twelve-hour shifts per month
• Closed ICU model with a diverse patient population (routine to high-acuity cases)
• Collaborative team of 11 full-time Intensivists and 8 full-time Physician Assistants
• Opportunities for teaching and mentorship of medical students and residents
• Optional involvement in inpatient pulmonology services and procedures
• Utilize Cerner EMR system

Procedures & Clinical Skills
Candidates should be proficient in:
• Central and arterial line insertion (ultrasound-guided)
• Intubation and airway management
• Chest tube insertion (small and large bore)
• Thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture
• IO access and bedside ultrasound

Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine (required)
• Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine
• BE/BC in Pulmonology (optional)
• Eligible for Maryland medical license (unrestricted)
• Active DEA and CDS registration
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
• Interest in teaching and mentoring medical trainees

• Competitive base salary: $200,000–$500,000 (commensurate with specialty, training, and experience)
