Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care
Location: Midland/Odessa, TX
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Urgent Care team in Midland/Odessa, TX. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, treating acute illnesses and minor injuries for patients of all ages. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals while maintaining autonomy in clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and urgent medical conditions.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and foreign body removal.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, etc.) and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and provide patient education on treatment, prevention, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
- Recognize and escalate cases requiring emergency care or specialist referral.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal medical regulations and clinical protocols.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of Texas.
- Completion of an accredited NP or PA program with board certification (FNP, ENP, or PA-C).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care setting preferred.
- Proficiency in suturing, splinting, wound care, and other urgent care procedures.
- Strong clinical decision-making, diagnostic, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the healthcare team.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- DEA license and ability to prescribe controlled substances.
