Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient (approx. 50% outpatient, 50% inpatient)
Reason for Coverage: Supplemental
Coverage Period: ASAP – Ongoing
Shift/Call Schedule: Tuesday–Tuesday, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM (one week per month). Nightly beeper call during coverage week; 20-minute call response time required.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Admit, manage, and follow adult advanced heart failure and transplant patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide consultations, perform scheduled clinic visits, ICU and hospital patient management, and admissions.
• Expected patient volumes (per shift/day): Scheduled clinic 10–13, hospital floor 5, ICU 2.
• Procedures as required: transthoracic and transesophageal echo, nuclear studies, PA catheter, intra-aortic balloon pump management, endomyocardial biopsy, diagnostic cardiac cath, angioplasty/stenting, atherectomy.

• In-practice cardiologists: 3
• Advanced practice providers: 3 APPs
• Nursing: 12 RNs
• Medical assistants: 3 MAs
• Office staff: 7
• In-house advanced transplant center (ATC)
• Lab and cath lab onsite

Facility/Equipment

• Office: 9 exam rooms; treadmill, echo, EKG
• EMR: Epic

Privileges, Credentials, and Requirements

• Board Certified (BC) in relevant specialty
• Current ACLS and BLS
• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
• Adult patient population

Logistics and Compensation Support

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered
• Temporary privileges available to expedite start
