Locum Tenens Neurosurgery PA/NP — OR First Assist, Inpatient (Tampa, FL)

We're seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to support our busy neurosurgery team in Tampa, FL. This role focuses on inpatient care and OR first-assist duties—no outpatient clinic work.

What you’ll be covering

• Inpatient rounding and serving as first-assist in the operating room.
• Adult and pediatric patient populations at a Level II Adult & Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
• Typical patient volume varies; you’ll work closely with a team of 5 neurosurgeons and 4 APPs.

Schedule and call

• Two weeks per month, 40 hours/week.
• Call rotation: 1:4 or 1:5 night and weekend coverage; beeper call.

Assignment details

• Facility: 600-bed hospital using Cerner EMR.
• Service setting: Inpatient with OR assistance.
• Reason for coverage: Vacancy, ASAP start with ongoing coverage.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.

Requirements

• Active Florida license.
• Board certification appropriate to the specialty (required).
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of neurosurgery APP experience with first-assist experience.
