Locum NP/PA Emergency Medicine — Level IV ED, 12-hr Nights, Travel/Lodging/Malpractice Covered

Locum tenens opportunity in Eagle Pass, TX to provide clinical-only emergency department coverage. Shifts are 12-hour evenings (12:00 PM–12:00 AM), beginning 12/01/2025 and ongoing. Adult patient population with an annual ED volume of ~14,700; Level IV trauma designation. Department: 14 ED beds within a 101-bed hospital using T-System EMR.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct emergency care within your scope and credentialing, including evaluation, treatment, and procedures appropriate to the ED.
• Participate in formal triage and support ED workflow to optimize throughput.
• Coordinate care with specialty backup and ancillary hospital services.
• Accurately complete documentation in T-System and collaborate with nursing staff and 12-hour scribe coverage.

Clinical environment and support

• Case mix: general emergency medicine and Level IV trauma.
• Specialty backup: OB/GYN, ENT, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Anesthesiology, Pulmonology, Wound Care, and more.
• Additional facility services: CT, ultrasound, ICU, blood bank, hyperbaric oxygen, ambulatory surgery, home health, respiratory services.
• Support staff: experienced nurses and dedicated scribe coverage. Shifts scheduled 46 weeks in advance.

Requirements and credentials

• Active Texas license and DEA required.
• NP: ANCC or AANP board certification; PA: NCCPA required.
• Mandatory certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NRP.
• Preference for ED/ER experience and competency with T-System documentation.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and practice independently in a Level IV ED.

Privileges, credentialing, and compliance

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges may be available per facility.
• Typical credentialing timeline: 24 days.
• Required documentation: state license, DEA, board certification, ACLS/ATLS/PALS/NRP, education records, driver’s license photo, CMEs, and case logs.

Compensation and logistics
