Locum tenens opportunity in Bloomington, IL providing 24-hour on-call coverage for cardiac electrophysiology. Coverage begins 10/15/2025 and continues on an ongoing basis. Call schedule is 24-hour shifts (7a–7a) with a 1:1 call ratio; telephone response required within 30 minutes. Callbacks are minimal and mostly handled via telephone triage.

Patient population is predominantly adult (≈98%) with occasional pediatric cases. Admissions and inpatient rounding are not expected during call coverage; remote phone consults for hospitalist and ICU teams are required. Case mix centers on EP and cardiac rhythm management.

Facility uses Epic. Multidisciplinary cardiac and ICU support is available, with specialty backup from cardiac surgery and a structural heart program. Temporary hospital privileges can be arranged; credentialing typically takes about 60 days. Coverage is needed to backfill a departing EP physician and ensure continuity of service.

Required procedures: pacemaker/ICD insertion, revision, replacement, removal; cardiac rhythm conversion; cardiac ablations; Watchman implantation; loop recorder placement/removal.

Qualifications: active IL medical license, active DEA, ACLS, CSR license, board certified or board eligible in cardiac electrophysiology, and a minimum of one year of EP experience. IMLC candidates are not accepted. Proficiency with Epic and EP procedures is expected.

Responsibilities: provide 24-hour EP call coverage; consult remotely for hospital and ICU staff as needed; respond to urgent calls/procedural needs within 30 minutes; collaborate with cardiac surgery and structural heart teams; and maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR.
