Join a cardiothoracic surgery team in Colorado Springs, CO, delivering inpatient and outpatient care for cardiovascular surgical patients. This permanent, full-time role provides clinical coverage and rotating call, with a focus on ICU and perioperative management.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for CVICU, floor, and clinic patients, including daily rounding and evaluations.
• Manage ICU patients and cardiovascular surgical post-op care.
• Rotate through OR coverage Monday–Friday and assist with procedures, including first assist duties and endoscopic vein harvesting.
• Perform bedside procedures and handle urgent clinical interventions.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
• Participate in a call schedule: weekday call rotation (1:4–5) and weekend rotation (1:4–5); in-house NP covers from 8:30 PM–6:30 AM.

Schedule:

• Day shifts, full-time
• One 2-day clinic week per week
• Ongoing coverage; start ASAP

Required qualifications:

• Active Colorado PA license
• NCCPA certification (BC)
• DEA registration
• BLS (AHA or Red Cross)
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery, including ICU management, endoscopic vein harvesting, and first-assist experience
• Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate privileges
• Eligibility to bill Medicare and Medicaid; no current/prior HHS/OIG or GSA exclusions
