Colon & Rectal Surgeon (BC/BE) — Munster, IN | Full-Time, Robotic/Minimally Invasive Practice

We’re recruiting a full-time Colon & Rectal Surgeon to join a growing surgical team in Hobart, Indiana. This is a permanent, full-time role covering both inpatient and outpatient care with a Monday–Friday schedule and a shared call rotation (1:4) that includes General Surgery call.

What you’ll treat and do

• Provide comprehensive colorectal and general surgical care for adult and geriatric patients, including screening and diagnostic colonoscopies.
• Perform minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures; proficiency with robotic surgery is required.
• Manage inpatient rounding, consults, and outpatient clinic follow-ups.
• Participate in a 1:4 general surgery call rotation.
• Use Epic for clinical documentation and care coordination.
• Work closely with nurse practitioners, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams on clinical quality and performance-improvement initiatives.
• Help grow and provide clinical leadership within the Community Healthcare System.

Clinical environment and support

• Integrated within a full-service surgical department.
• Robust specialty backup: 24/7 anesthesia, GI, oncology, and critical care support.
• Dedicated inpatient and outpatient nurse practitioner and clinical team support.
• Epic EMR in use.
• Reports to the Chief of Surgery / Medical Director.
• Opening driven by growth and service-line expansion.

Credentials and compliance

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Colon and Rectal Surgery.
• Indiana medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Active DEA; BLS and ACLS required.
• Credentialing typically completed in about 90–120 days post-offer.
