Schedule & Coverage Requirements

• On-site daytime shifts: typical 8:00–17:00; minimum 5 on-site weekday shifts/month (must include Fridays)
• Remote evening shifts: typical 16:00–01:00 (varied start times); minimum 5 remote evening shifts/month
• Remote weekend/holiday shifts: typical 10:00–24:00 (flexible subsets); minimum 3 remote weekend/holiday shifts/month
• Flexible scheduling; preference for candidates able to cover weekends

Patient Population & Volume

• Adult/general radiology population
• High-volume practice (approximately 6,090 wRVUs/day)
• Case mix: CT, MRI, X‑ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine; subspecialty reads as applicable

Facility & Technology

• PACS: Change Healthcare
• Dictation: Nuance PowerScribe One
• Team-based radiology department with specialty backup
• Reason for locum: volume exceeds available FTEs

Privileges & Compliance

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
• Typical credentialing timeline: ~1 month
• Vaccination requirements: PPD, Varicella, MMR

Required Clinical Procedures & Expectations

• On-site procedural expectations: GI fluoroscopy studies, lumbar puncture (when on-site)
• Diagnostic reads expected across CT, MRI, X‑ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine
• Teleradiology shifts: diagnostic reads only; no procedures required
• Required experience in brain and spine MRI; stroke protocol CT/CTA/CTP experience required
• Productivity target: approximately 710 wRVUs/hour depending on shift

Licensure, Certification & Experience

• Active California medical license and California RHL required
• Board certified in Diagnostic Radiology
• California X‑ray operator and supervisor permit required
• Minimum 1 year post-training experience in specialty; no employment gaps >6 months
• Fellowship preferred in Neuroradiology, MSK, Chest, Body/Abdomen, or Interventional Radiology
• Remote candidates preferred from PST or Hawaii time zones

Compensation & Logistics

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance typically not provided
• Local candidates preferred (Los Angeles or Orange County) and expected to reside locally to minimize travel/lodging costs

Primary Duties

• Perform and document diagnostic reads across modalities (CT, MRI, US, NM, X‑ray) via PACS and PowerScribe One
• Cover scheduled on-site daytime, remote evening, and remote weekend/holiday shifts
• Meet departmental productivity and quality standards
• Collaborate with radiology team to manage high imaging volumes
