Locum Diagnostic Radiologist — Richmond IN, Days (Mon–Fri 7a–4p), No Call/Weekends, ER-STAT CT/XS Film Reads

Location: Richmond, IN — Inpatient hospital setting (Level III trauma)

Schedule & Coverage

• Locum tenens assignment with clinical-only coverage.
• Weekdays, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch). Overtime applies after 4:00 PM.
• No call, no weekends.
• Coverage windows include specific blocks: March 23–27; March 30–April 3; April 27–May 1; June 8–12; and May 23–July 12 (specific blocks within that range).

Clinical Focus & Volume

• Adult patient population at a regional hospital.
• Expect to read roughly 50–90 studies per day, primarily plain films and CTs, with a strong focus on ER STAT cases.
• Ultrasound and MRI reads are optional but available.
• Phone consults with on-site radiologists are part of the role. Rounding and admissions are not required.

Facility & Support

• Hospital has 220+ beds; the radiology department supports approximately 189 beds.
• EMR: Epic. PACS: GE with PowerScribe dictation.
• You’ll have 1–3 other radiologists on-site for backup and access to a broad specialty base across roughly 200 physicians.
• Strong institutional support staff (facility employs ~3,200 people).

Privileges, Compliance & Onboarding

• Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are not available.
• Expect a credentialing timeline of 30–60 days.
• Required to attend an in-person orientation (7:30 AM–5:00 PM), ideally the Friday before your first Monday or within 2 weeks prior to starting.

Compensation & Logistics

• Paid at the regular rate for the 8.5-hour shift; OT paid after 4:00 PM.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice arrangements are to be determined/not specified.

Required Qualifications

• Active Indiana medical license or participation in IMLC.
• BC/BE in diagnostic radiology (certification must be obtained within five years of residency if applicable).
• Minimum two years of specialty experience.
• BLS required.
• Flu and COVID vaccinations required (medical or religious exemptions accepted).

Scope of Work

• On-site reading of plain films and CTs with priority on ER STATs.
• Optional ultrasound/MRI interpretation.
• Order entry responsibilities.
• Meet expected daily volume targets.
• No procedures, no fluoroscopy, and no mammography responsibilities.
