Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — El Paso, TX (16-bed ED, 24/7 scribe support)

We’re seeking a locum tenens emergency physician to provide ongoing clinical coverage at a hospital in El Paso, TX. You’ll work in a busy, community emergency department that sees about 15,000 visits a year and is designated Trauma Level IV. The ED has 16 beds (including 4 lower-acuity beds) and broad subspecialty support including cardiology, imaging, GI, oncology, orthopedics, pulmonology, urology, and a stroke center. The facility uses Cerner, and scribe support is available 24/7.

Schedule and coverage

• Start: 10/06/2025; ongoing coverage
• Daily physician coverage: 24/7 with 8–9 hour shifts (89-hour shift rotation)
• APP coverage: 8 hours on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
• Coverage type: Clinical only

Qualifications and credentials

• Active Texas medical license and DEA with Texas address required
• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or pediatric emergency if applicable; osteopathic equivalents accepted
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications
• Hospital privileges required

Onboarding and compliance

• Must complete in-person EMR training before your first shift
• Provide standard credentialing documentation: two years of CME records, two years of case logs, education and training diplomas, Social Security card, driver’s license, color photo
• Up-to-date immunizations: TB, flu, Hep B, MMR, varicella
• Annual requirements: 8 hours Stroke CME and 8 hours Trauma CME

Role and responsibilities

• Deliver acute emergency medical care in the hospital setting
• Work closely with APPs and consult/subspecialty teams to coordinate patient care
