Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Low Moor, VA (12-hr ED Shifts, Oct 2025 Start)

We’re seeking a locum tenens emergency medicine physician to join the team in Low Moor, VA, providing clinical coverage in a hospital emergency department beginning October 1, 2025, with an open/ongoing end date.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver full-spectrum emergency care for adults and seniors in a busy ED (approximately 14,000 visits/year).
• Work 12-hour shifts that include days, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Perform emergency stabilization, general ED procedures, admissions, and phone consults.
• Collaborate closely with general surgery and specialty teams, including a Senior Transitions Program (15-bed unit).
• Round and assist with inpatient transitions when required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital compliance and quality standards.

Facility and team

• Hospital-based ED with 70 beds (not a trauma center).
• On-site support includes RNs and APPs, with specialty backup from general surgery.
• Case mix centers on emergency medicine, general surgery issues, and acute stabilization.

Credentials and requirements

• Active Virginia medical license and DEA in hand.
• BE/BC in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice with ER experience (board certification within 7 years of residency required).
• ATLS required if not EM-boarded; ACLS required if not EM-boarded.
• Emergency medicine clinical experience required.
• Clean credentialing files only; no moonlighting residents.
