Join a growing orthopedic service line in Hobart and Valparaiso, IN (Chicagoland area) as a full-time, permanent orthopedic surgeon with a hand focus. This role combines inpatient and outpatient practice within a 458-bed hospital system using Epic (HIMSS Stage VII), supported by a comprehensive physician network and nurse practitioner coverage.

Work schedule and call

• Monday–Friday clinical schedule with shared call (1:6 rotation)
• Start date negotiable; credentialing typically 90–120 days

Clinical scope

• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Diverse hand and upper-extremity surgical caseload, with general orthopedic cases as needed
• Responsibilities include consultations, admissions, rounding, operative care, and follow-up
• Opportunity to participate in quality improvement and practice development initiatives

Team and resources

• Integrated specialty backup and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Inpatient and outpatient NP support
• Epic EMR proficiency required

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery (hand subspecialty encouraged)
• Indiana medical license or eligibility required
• DEA registration, CSR, and BLS/ACLS as applicable
• Subspecialty hand training preferred; new graduates considered with mentorship
