Locum Emergency Medicine Physician — Level II Trauma, Travel/Lodging & Malpractice Covered (Laredo, TX)

We’re seeking an experienced emergency medicine physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Laredo, Texas. This is inpatient, clinical-only work with a flexible schedule beginning ASAP and continuing on an ongoing basis.

What you’ll be treating

• Adult and geriatric patients with a general emergency medicine case mix
• Admissions and phone consults as needed
• Full scope of emergency procedures

Facility snapshot

• Typical regional, Level II trauma center (please confirm if different)
• Specialty backup from multiple services
• Support team includes RNs, APPs, and allied health staff
• Role is supplemental coverage to support the existing team

Credentials and compliance

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges TBD
• Credentialing timeline TBD (standard EM credentialing range: 30–90 days)
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice covered

Required qualifications

• Active Texas medical license and DEA with TX address
• Board certified (ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or osteopathic equivalent)
• Residency-trained in Emergency Medicine or a relevant specialty
• Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS (ATLS may be waived if ABEM-certified)
• Annual continuing education: 9 hours Stroke CME and 9 hours Trauma CME
• Provide CME and case logs from the past 2 years plus copies of diplomas, SS card, driver’s license, and a photo for MSO submission

Clinical responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic presentations in the ED
• Participate in trauma and emergency response activations as needed
• Coordinate care and patient flow with nursing and support staff
• Accurately document all patient encounters in the EMR
