Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Otolaryngologist to provide locum tenens coverage in Rhinelander, WI, supporting both inpatient and outpatient care. This is supplemental clinical coverage with ongoing assignments beginning Dec 1, 2025.

Schedule and clinical duties

  • Typical weekly schedule: Mon/Wed/Thu 8:00–17:00 (lunch 12:00–13:00); Tue and Fri are surgery days.
  • Call: beeper calls, 1:1 ratio, 1–3 calls spread across about 10 days per month. Expected call response time is 20 minutes; callbacks are required 100% of the time. Phone consults typically 0–5 per shift.
  • Patient volume: 20+ patients per day with 0–2 admissions; rounding is included.
  • Support: 1 RN and 6 front-office staff; clinic includes 2 audiologists and the ability to perform some in-clinic procedures.
  • EMR: Epic.

Clinical expectations and procedures

  • Provide general otolaryngology care (surgical and non-surgical), including endoscopic procedures, tracheotomy, and general head and neck work. Must be comfortable performing the full range of “bread-and-butter” ENT procedures.
  • Department has 30+ beds. Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available.

Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin medical license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
  • Board certified in Otolaryngology
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
