Locum tenens opportunity in El Paso, TX, providing inpatient emergency department coverage beginning December 20, 2025 with ongoing assignment and a flexible shift schedule.

Clinical scope: Adult and geriatric patients with a general emergency medicine case mix. Responsibilities include admissions, rounds, and phone consults as needed. Standard hospital-based emergency procedures are expected.

Facility and support: Hospital ED with nursing and ancillary staff support and specialty backup available within the system. Coverage requested for supplemental staffing.

Credentials and compliance: Active Texas medical license and DEA required. Board certification preferred (ABEM preferred; ABFM or ABIM accepted). BLS required; ACLS preferred. Prior emergency medicine experience and the ability to function independently in a high-volume ED are required. Hospital privileges are required; credentialing typically takes up to 60 days.

Compensation and logistics: Competitive rate (TBD). Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided.

Primary duties:

• Provide emergency evaluation, stabilization, diagnosis, and treatment for acute and emergent conditions
• Coordinate care with nursing, specialists, and ancillary teams to ensure patient safety and timely disposition
• Accurately document all clinical encounters in the EMR
• Participate in continuous coverage rotations per the flexible schedule model
