Assignment type: Locum Tenens — Clinical only, supplemental coverage
Coverage period: Jan 5, 2026 – Ongoing
Shift schedule: Nights only, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 15 shifts/month, single physician coverage at night

Clinical setting and volume

• Service setting: ED (Outpatient/Inpatient)
• Dixon ED: ~55–60 patients/day; 13 ED beds; 81 inpatient beds; Level II trauma
• Galesburg ED: ~2 patients/hour average; annual ED volume ~28,000
• Patient mix: ~90% adults, 10% pediatrics
• Case mix: General surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, cardiology, infectious disease, PRN urology, emergent transfers; GI patients requiring ERCP are transferred

Procedures and resources

• Dixon: Routine ED procedures
• Galesburg: Standard intubation, central lines, joint reductions, sedation, laceration repair, lumbar puncture
• Mid-level coverage: APPs on mid shift for physician oversight
• All specialties onsite

Systems and privileges

• EMR: Cerner (Dixon) and Epic (Galesburg)
• Temporary privileges available

Compensation and logistics

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Requirements

• Active Illinois medical license
• BC/BE (ABEM required for Galesburg)
• EM residency trained with at least 1 year post-training experience
• DEA certificate, CSR
• BLS and ACLS
