We’re seeking a board-certified/board-eligible gastroenterologist to provide locum tenens call coverage for an inpatient adult service in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role begins December 2025 and continues on an ongoing basis, covering one week at a time (Friday 4:00 PM to the following Friday 4:00 PM) on a beeper call schedule with a 1:4 rotation.
What you’ll cover: inpatient floor, ED, ICU, consults, and endoscopy. Typical daily patient volume ranges from about 4–12 adult patients. The group consists of four physicians; the EMR in use is Epic. Onsite lab and radiology are available.
Procedures and skills expected: upper and lower GI endoscopy (including colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy), esophageal dilatation and manometry interpretation, small bowel biopsy, and liver biopsy.
What’s provided: travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.
Basic requirements: active Massachusetts medical license, BC/BE in Gastroenterology, and current BLS certification.
