Locum tenens opportunity for a fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to provide clinical and in-house call coverage at a hospital in Florence, South Carolina. Coverage begins 01/19/2026 and is ongoing with variable daytime shifts (typically 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) and scheduled in-house on-call (nights 5:00 PM–8:00 AM and 24-hour calls as assigned).
Selected coverage dates include:
- February: 15–22 and specified call days Feb 16–21
- March: 29–31 and call March 30–31
- April: 5, 12, 13, 16 and call April 5 & 12
- May: 3–10, 24–31 and call May 3, 31; day call May 4–8, 25–29
- June: 1, 6–15, 21, 28–29 and call June 1, 14, 21, 28; day call June 8–12
- July: 5 and call July 5
Clinical expectations
- Provide inpatient and outpatient IR coverage during scheduled clinical shifts and participate in evening, night, and 24-hour on-call rotations.
- Perform a full range of interventional procedures, manage rounding as part of procedural workflow, and triage/consult by phone as needed.
- Collaborate with radiology, surgical teams, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Complete required hospital modules and maintain compliance with credentialing and privileging processes.
Procedure mix (typical)
- Arteriography, CT-fluoro biopsies, tumor ablations, embolization
- Kyphoplasty, gastrostomy and PleurX catheter placements
- Nephrostomy and biliary drainages
- Tunneled and non-tunneled port placements
- Dialysis graft declots
Patient population and volume
- Adult patients; case volume varies with IR caseload.
Facility and support
- Hospital setting (no trauma designation). Standard IR suite equipment, RNs and technologists available, specialty backup from radiology and surgical teams. Reason for coverage: backfill for FTE vacancy. Number of beds and EMR system TBD.
Credentials, licensing & compliance
- Active South Carolina medical license required. Board eligible within five years; fellowship-trained in Interventional Radiology required. Active DEA registration, BLS and ACLS required. Physicians only (no APPs).
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available. Estimated credentialing timeline 30–90 days. $500 stipend provided for completion of hospital modules.
Compensation & logistics
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided. Overtime pay: daily after 8 hours; weekly after 168 hours.
