Hospital-Employed Rheumatologist — Outpatient Practice in Munster, IN

Permanent, full-time opportunity in Munster, IN for a hospital-employed Rheumatologist. Practice is outpatient-focused (Monday–Friday, standard business hours) with a 1:3 on-call rotation. Start date: upon completion of credentialing (approximately 90–120 days post-offer).

Patient population and practice scope

• Adult and geriatric patients with autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders.
• Primarily outpatient consults and longitudinal follow-up with minimal inpatient rounding.
• Common conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, vasculitis, connective tissue disease, and other inflammatory disorders.
• Manageable patient volume supported by an integrated Epic EMR and system resources.

Facility, team and support

• EMR: Epic.
• Access to a full network of subspecialty backup across Community Healthcare System.
• Dedicated nursing and administrative support.
• Reports to the Medical Director/Division Chief.
• Position open due to growth of the Rheumatology service line.

Credentials and compliance

• Board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology.
• Indiana medical license or eligibility required.
• Active DEA registration, BLS and ACLS required.
• Credentialing timeline: approximately 90–120 days.

Qualifications and skills

• BC/BE in Rheumatology.
• DEA, BLS, ACLS.
• Prior rheumatology clinical experience preferred; new fellows encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication skills, patient-centered approach, and ability to work collaboratively.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions.
• Provide ongoing longitudinal care and coordinate multidisciplinary management.
• Document care and communicate using Epic.
• Participate in quality improvement and service-line development initiatives.
