**Hematology/Oncology Medical Director Opening – Coastal South Carolina**
Located in **Conway, SC**
Visa eligible.
An exceptional leadership opportunity for a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist to serve as **Physician Director of Cancer Care** at one of South Carolina’s most trusted and innovative community health systems. This position offers the chance to shape the future of oncology services within a growing regional network while maintaining an active clinical practice.
**About the Position**
-Lead a well-established oncology program into its next phase of growth
-Integrate world-class patient care, program development, and strategic planning
-Diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer and blood disorders
-Mentor physicians, APPs, and oncology nurses within a multidisciplinary setting
-Collaborate with hospital leadership and Duke Cancer Network experts
-Enhance clinic workflows, quality standards, and patient outcomes
-Develop new treatment services and community outreach initiatives
-Standard outpatient schedule, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
-Protected administrative time (8+ hours per week)
-Shared 1:4 call rotation supported by after-hours nurse triage
-Team includes 4 physicians, 3 APPs, and specialized oncology nurses
-EMR: Cerner
**Program Overview**
-The Godwin Healing Center is a Duke Cancer Network affiliate, providing access to advanced clinical trials, research, and best practices
-Clinic includes a 10-chair infusion center, onsite lab and pharmacy, plus two additional infusion sites
-Advanced imaging technology: PET, 64-slice CT, 3D mammography, breast MRI, high-definition endoscopy
-Bi-weekly tumor boards for breast, GI, ENT, and other specialties
-Surgical referrals for breast, colorectal, and vascular cases
-Research alignment with Duke University and ACGME-accredited training programs
-Preparing for accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer
**Current Practice Details**
-Average patient volume: 15–20 per day
-Patient mix: 40% oncology, 60% hematology
-Procedures include bone marrow biopsies and port insertions
-Focus on adult patients with a range of early-stage to advanced cancers
**Compensation and Benefits**
-Guaranteed base salary: $700,000+ (flexible/negotiable)
-$50,000+ sign-on bonus
-Additional wRVU-based productivity bonuses
-Relocation assistance available
