Locum Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist — Seattle, WA (Inpatient, ECMO/LVAD, Travel & Lodging Covered)

We’re seeking an experienced advanced heart failure/transplant cardiology physician to provide locum tenens inpatient coverage in Seattle, WA. This role is a supplemental clinical position with scheduled coverage through September 30, 2026, starting ASAP.

What the schedule looks like

• Primary shift: one-week blocks, Mon–Mon, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, one week per month
• Night call: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM; beeper call with a 1:4 ratio and 20-minute response expectation
• Phone consults and rounding are part of the assignment

Patient mix and volume

• Adult patient population
• Typical census: 10–12 patients with 1–2 new consults per day
• Rounding and telephone consults expected

Clinical responsibilities and procedures

• Manage ECMO (VV & VA) and Impella support
• Care for durable LVAD patients (no transplant procedures required)
• Participate in the shock program
• Perform and interpret echocardiography as needed

Hospital and team environment

• Large center with 22 ICU beds and Level I trauma designation
• Cath lab and surgical backup available
• Practice includes 32 cardiologists, 3 heart-failure/transplant physicians, and 33 APPs
• EMR: Epic

Logistics and support

• Hospital privileges are required
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Minimum requirements

• Active WA medical license or IMLC eligibility
• Board certified in relevant specialty
• ACLS and BLS certifications
