Locum Tenens Inpatient Cardiologist — Charleston, WV (Weekday or 7on/7off Coverage)

We’re seeking a cardiologist to provide inpatient consultative coverage in Charleston, West Virginia. This is a locum tenens opportunity with an ongoing start date of 01/05/2026; the client prefers a one-year commitment. Coverage is two weeks per month on an ongoing basis.

Schedule and Coverage

• Weekday clinical shifts only: Monday–Friday, either 7:00–15:00 or 8:00–16:00 (8-hour shifts), OR a 7-on/7-off rotation option.
• Floor rounding only — no ICU duties.

Patient and Clinical Details

• Adult patient population; roughly 10 consults per day.
• Inpatient cardiology consults only (no ICU cases).
• Expect to perform cardiograms and nuclear stress tests.
• You’ll collaborate closely with NP/PA support staff.

Facility and Support

• Position is within a large, 1,078-bed hospital with Adult Level IV trauma designation.
• EMR: Cerner.
• Specialty backup and day-to-day support from NPs and PAs.

Privileges, Credentialing, and Compliance

• Hospital privileges are required; credentialing timeline is about 60 days.
• Clean background check required; pre-application must be submitted immediately upon offer.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Active West Virginia license or participation in the IMLC (client will accept IMLC).
• Board certification in cardiology required.
• Active DEA registration.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• Comfortable managing inpatient cardiology consults and working with advanced practice providers.
