Location & Assignment

• Plattsburgh, NY — Hospital operating room coverage (locum tenens)
• Coverage period: 04/01/2026 – 12/31/2026
• Schedule: Either four days/week (07:30–15:30) or five days/week (07:30–17:30), depending on assignment
• Coverage type: Clinical only; ongoing full-time coverage need

Who you’ll be treating and typical volume

• Adult patients only (no pediatrics)
• High-volume environment: roughly 46 OR surgical cases per day or up to 1,012 GI endoscopy cases per day when assigned
• Case mix includes orthopedics, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, plastics, podiatry, and GI endoscopy
• Phone consult expectations: to be determined

Facility and support

• EMR: Epic (preferred experience)
• Standard anesthesia equipment provided
• Full surgical services with anesthesiologist backup for blocks and supervision
• You’ll work with a dedicated OR team and supervising anesthesiologists
• Trauma level and department bed count: to be determined

Scope of practice and procedures

• Provide anesthesia care across the listed surgical specialties
• Typical procedures: ortho, ENT, general surgery, gyne, plastics, podiatry, and GI endoscopy cases
• Assist with C-sections only when the covering anesthesiologist is performing a spinal or epidural
• Supervision model: CRNAs function under anesthesiologist supervision

Credentials and requirements

• CRNA certification required
• Active New York license preferred
• DEA as applicable
• BLS required; ACLS recommended
• Experience with the specified case mix preferred
• Ability to work in a supervised anesthesia model
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Privileges, credentialing, and compliance

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges and credentialing timeline: to be determined

Compensation & logistics

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered
• Overtime: daily overtime after 10 hours; weekly overtime after 168 hours

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Deliver safe, efficient anesthesia care in a high-volume OR/endoscopy setting
• Manage heavy case volumes per assignment (see above)
• Document care in Epic
• Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists and OR staff to maintain patient safety and workflow
