Requirements:
- Active RN license in Connecticut.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience, preferably in school health, pediatrics, or public health.
- Current BLS certification (CPR).
- Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of student health regulations, immunization requirements, and infection control protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.
- Maintain and update student health records, including immunizations and medical history.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for students with health needs.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with parents, physicians, and emergency services when necessary.
- Promote health education and wellness programs within the school community.
- Monitor and manage communicable diseases and ensure adherence to public health guidelines.
- Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and teachers to support student well-being.
- Ensure compliance with state laws and school health policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school health initiatives.
