Overview:
Join a collaborative rehabilitation team delivering high-quality, patient-centered speech-language services. You will evaluate, plan, and provide evidence-based interventions across a range of communication and swallowing disorders while supervising trainees and coordinating care with interdisciplinary colleagues.
Requirements:
- Valid SLP license for the practicing state or proof of eligibility
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with cognitive-communication, speech, oral-motor, swallowing, perceptual, memory/orientation, pragmatic, psychosocial, and functional communication needs
- Provide direct treatment, document services, and perform routine re-assessments to modify or progress plans
- Supervise CFYs, temporary licensees, students, and support staff in accordance with state and professional standards
- Coordinate care with physicians, the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, and external agencies; refer patients as appropriate
- Consult on and select therapeutic regimens tailored to each patient’s abilities and goals; instruct patients and caregivers in therapeutic techniques and adaptive communication device use
- Screen for hearing deficits and arrange further assessment or rehabilitation referrals
- Prioritize patient safety, maintain a safe care environment, and follow department schedules, documentation, and billing procedures
- Order, maintain, and report equipment and supply needs; ensure cleanliness and identify repair requirements
- Attend and contribute to patient care conferences, department meetings, and other related activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
