We’re looking for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Marlinton, WV. This role starts ASAP and follows an 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule.
What we’re looking for
- A current, valid SLP license for the practicing state or proof of eligibility to obtain one.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow.
- A valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
What you’ll do
You’ll evaluate, treat, and support patients across a range of communication and swallowing disorders, developing individualized treatment plans and documenting progress. You’ll screen, examine, and diagnose impairments, then implement evidence-based interventions in areas such as cognitive-communication, speech intelligibility, oral motor function, dysphagia, memory and orientation, pragmatics, psychosocial expression, and functional communication. You’ll also coordinate case management and instruct patients in using adaptive communication devices when appropriate.
As part of the team, you’ll:
- Supervise clinical fellows, temporary licensees, students, and support staff in line with state and professional standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to select and adapt therapeutic regimens.
- Refer patients to other disciplines or agencies when additional services are needed.
- Participate in and contribute to patient care conferences and department meetings.
- Coordinate home and community care plans with the team and referring physicians.
Operational responsibilities
- Keep to department and treatment schedules and complete required clinical and billing documentation.
- Order and maintain supplies and equipment, report needed repairs, and help ensure a safe environment by eliminating fire and safety hazards.
- Perform routine re-examinations to adjust treatment plans and monitor patient progress, attitudes, and behavior.
- Prioritize high-quality, compassionate care that respects each patient’s individual needs and rights.
